The story of PaganamaaBrass.
PaganamaaBrass celebrates its 15th anniversary this year. It all started in 2011, when the wind instrument class students of Võru, Tartu I and Nõmme music schools came to Paganamaa to visit the young musicians Kristjan Laatsi and Kaarel Kõvatu from this area. We played on Paganamaa days and in Võru church. This visit became an annual tradition of PaganamaaBrass at the will of the young people. PaganamaaBrass is a very special brass ensemble that does not have a permanent composition, it comes together every year with a new one, the composition of PB has been larger in some years, smaller in others. In 2011 we started with 13 players, in the record year of 2018 there were 69 players in the band. In recent years, the size of the team has been balanced around 30 players. Also, every year the PB repertoire is new and fresh, the conductors come to Paganamaa with big bags of music, and it becomes clear on the spot which songs will be played at the concerts. In 2025, conductors Aigar Kostabi, Mart Kivi, Karl Abro, Kristiina Luik, Urmas Himma will give momentum to Paganamaa Brass.
