Night cinema: "FOREST 森 MORI" - world premiere!
White nights are not for sleeping, but for watching movies! At Rõuge Community Center’s mosquito-free outdoor cinema, you can catch the premiere of a film shot during last year’s festival!
**METS 森 MORI (Ants Tammik, Taavi Tatsi, 2025, 42 min) - World Premiere!
In July 2024, during the Aigu Om! festival in Võrumaa, the Pähni Forest Residency took place. Together with writer Valdur Mikita, we took two Japanese forest culture experts to the most exciting nature trails of Southeast Estonia. Yutaka Miura is a nature enthusiast who leads exciting tours introducing forests and special trees. Daizaburo Sakamoto’s mission is to revive the ancient practices of the yamabushi, or mountain ascetics dedicated to wild nature. Ants Tammik was behind the camera so we could share their direct experience with a wider audience.
The filmmakers, Ants and Taavi, will be present at the premiere to share their impressions! *The film is in Estonian and Japanese with Estonian and Japanese subtitles.
